Senior Accountant

A growing financial services organization is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its accounting and finance team. This is a hands-on position offering broad exposure across accounting operations, financial reporting, analysis, and process improvement.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in GAAP accounting, enjoys taking ownership of their work, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position is well suited for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and interested in helping improve accounting processes as the organization continues to grow.

• Participate in the monthly and quarterly financial close process.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with preparation and analysis of financial statements and management reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Review financial results and investigate unusual trends or discrepancies.
• Assist with revenue, billing, cash, accounts payable, and other general accounting activities.
• Support payroll-related accounting and reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate general ledger activity and ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for annual audits and tax-related requirements.
• Partner with internal departments to resolve accounting and financial questions.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls, and improve reporting.
• Utilize technology, automation, and AI tools appropriately to increase efficiency and reduce manual processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years Financial services or professional services industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, journal entries, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Interest in leveraging technology and AI tools to improve accounting processes.
• Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
