THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION REQUIRING 2 DAYS PER WEEK (TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY) EACH WEEK IN-PERSON AT OUR OFFICE LOCATED IN THE STREETERVILLE/MAG MILE AREA OF DOWNTOWN CHICAGO, IL.
JOB SUMMARYThe Staff Accountant is an individual contributor responsible for the accounts receivable illing function, including cash application, reconciliation and reporting. The position will also have responsibility for certain accounts payable and general accounting functions such as accounts payable processing, general journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Prepare invoicing for AOA and related organizations.
- Apply cash receipts and reconcile to supporting systems.
- Reconcile payments to affiliated organizations for revenue sharing.
- Review and reconcile accounts receivable aging to ensure timely collections.
- Prepare monthly reporting related to accounts receivable.
- Prepares and maintains journal entries, schedules and reconciliations for timely month-end and year-end processing.
- Assist and support the accounts payable function.
- Support the annual audits and IRS 990 work.
- Assist with the annual budgeting process as needed.
- Other duties as assigned including special projects.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance and/or Accounting
Experience:- 2 - 4 years of GAAP based accounting experience including accounts receivable/cash application.
Skills:
- Must be a self-starter and be able to complete accurate and timely work with minimal supervision
- Must have a critical mind: able to identify and clearly define issues, appropriate ways of solving problems using data gathered and make recommendations
- Must have good technology skills and enjoy learning new technology
- Possess excellent quantitative, written and verbal communication skills
- Possess time management and organizational skills
- Be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Physical demands include the ability to remain in a stationary position, the ability to move from one work site to another, the ability to operate office equipment and the ability to move supplies and equipment up to 25 pounds.
Salary Range: $73,000 - $78,000
