Senior Accountant - IDOT Bureau of Maintenance

2IM Group is now part of Mac Kay, and we are seeking a full-time Senior Accountant to support The Bureau of Maintenance Support. This role is based out of IDOT's Schaumburg HQ and will require some travel through the district, including audits at their yards.

• Prepare accurate, timely financial statements utilizing Excel spreadsheets to monitor spending on service and other associated contracts including commodities
• Conduct monthly and quarterly account (1200, 1300, 1500, and 1800 funding) reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
• Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to Support's attention for rectification - authorized vs invoiced for, for consistent quality control
• Review all Maintenance transactions and invoices as necessary
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts for obligation purposes - estimated spends vs actual spends
• Coordinate semi-annual commodity audits as an internal check with Financial Services
• Conduct regular ledger maintenance daily to ensure accurate reporting on spends

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required (Master's preferred)
• 5+ years' experience in general or tax accounting
• Experience with computerized ledger systems
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment
• Experience with IDOT processes is a plus
