Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid.

The City of Chicago is seeking a Finance Officer supporting budgeting staff to prepare Midway's Annual O&M budget. Ensuring Midway Airport expenditures remain within budget and comply with applicable funding and contract guidelines, while maintaining airport operations at appropriate service and performance levels.

• Manages a major and large-scale program or project of significant size and scope in terms of budget, operations, for Midway International Airport.
• Functions as a specialized advisor to executive-level managers or functions as a technical specialist or expert-level professional in a given profession, specific technical area, or operational area.
• Prepares an analysis of expenses such as projections and preliminary final budget summaries for budget approval to the CDA Deputy Commissioner of Finance.
• Reviews budgets to ensure accounts are appropriately allocated.
• Manages the distribution of periodic financial management system (FMS) information reports and highlight the variance from approved budget to Finance and all Midway's sections.
• Presentation of reports that compare performance with plans, budget, and projections.
• Interprets financial and statistical results.
• Performs other duties as assigned to meet the overall objective of Midway Airport (i.e. approving APRFs, approving expense forms, etc.).

Additional duties may be required for this position.

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, plus three (3) years of professional accounting or auditing experience, of which one (1) year is in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position
• Should the above criteria not be fulfilled, the following options are acceptable:
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in a directly related field of Accounting with 15 semester hours in Accounting, plus three (3) years of professional accounting or auditing experience, of which one (1) year is in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree or higher in Accounting, plus two (2) years of professional accounting or auditing experience, of which one (1) year is in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in a related field of Accounting with 15 semester hours in Accounting, plus two (2) years of professional accounting or auditing experience, of which one (1) year is in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position
