Legal E-Billing Specialist

Description

A nationally recognized, full-service law firm is seeking an experienced Legal E-Billing Specialist to join its finance team. This role is responsible for the timely, accurate, and efficient submission and management of client invoices through a variety of e-billing platforms. The ideal candidate will have prior law firm billing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with attorneys, billing professionals, and clients to ensure compliance with billing guidelines and a smooth revenue cycle process.

Responsibilities

+ Onboard new clients and maintain client e-billing vendor sites, including updates to timekeepers, rates, and budgets.

+ Submit invoices through various e-billing platforms and revenue-cycle software.

+ Review, analyze, and resolve invoice submission errors and coordinate corrections with billing teams.

+ Monitor invoice acceptance and rejection statuses across multiple e-billing systems.

+ Review client engagement terms and billing guidelines to ensure compliance and minimize delays in billing and collections.

+ Review client payments and account activity, identify discrepancies, reductions, or write-offs, and coordinate resolution efforts.

+ Research and follow up on aged accounts receivable and outstanding e-billed invoices.

+ Maintain detailed billing records and client-specific billing instructions.

+ Assist billing teams with complex e-billing issues, troubleshooting, and process improvement initiatives.

+ Support special projects and additional finance department initiatives as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications

+ 3-5 years of legal billing and/or e-billing experience within a law firm environment.

+ Strong understanding of the full client billing and revenue cycle process.

+ Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

+ Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

+ Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

+ Strong client service skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Compensation & Benefits

+ Base salary: $70,000-$90,000

+ Profit-sharing bonus eligibility after one year of employment (historically averaging 6-7% of salary)
