Overview
Fabrik is seeking a warm, organized, and highly reliable In-Space Experience Lead to support and steward our first Chicago location. As the first on‑ground hire, this role is both operational and foundational: you’ll ensure the space runs smoothly day to day while working in close partnership with our Community and Market Director to help build, document, and refine the Chicago playbook.
You’ll be responsible for holding a high standard of care in the space during staffed hours, from hospitality and member support to space readiness and gathering execution, while also contributing real‑time insights about what’s working, what’s needed, and how Chicago members use the space. Your observations and feedback will directly inform how Fabrik shows up in Chicago going forward.
This role is highly member‑facing and requires strong emotional intelligence and presence. This role is rooted in presence, hospitality, and operational excellence. Long‑term engagement strategy, growth, and programming direction are owned by the Chicago Director, but your lived, in‑space experience will help shape how those strategies are adapted locally.
Core hours are typically 5:00 – 9:00 pm, with potential daytime shifts as needed.
Key Responsibilities Space Operations- Maintain a clean, stocked, and guest‑ready space at all times
- Complete daily walkthroughs to ensure the space is functioning as intended
- Identify, document, and elevate maintenance or facilities issues
- Coordinate with cleaning teams, vendors, and building management as needed
- Support consistent opening, closing, and reset routines
- Serve as the first point of contact for members during staffed hours
- Offer warm greetings, light check‑ins, and in‑the‑moment support
- Onboard new members with space tours and orientation
- Troubleshoot issues calmly, professionally, and with care
- Observe member activity and surface feedback or concerns to the leadership team
- Uphold community guidelines with kindness and consistency
- Support in‑space gatherings and workshops
- Light setup, light tech/AV support, and cleanup where needed
- Host or assist with occasional evening gatherings
- Ensure events align with Fabrik’s values and experience standards
- Capture photos or short videos for internal use or social media when requested
- Leave the space reset and guest‑ready at the end of each gathering
- Log member requests, notes, and updates in internal tools
- Communicate with members via Slack and e‑mail as needed
- Track space usage, attendance, and daily engagement touchpoints
- Partner with the broader Fabrik team to address member needs and improve experience
- Lead tours for prospective members and clearly articulate Fabrik’s value
- Respond to inbound tour questions or scheduling requests during staffed hours
- Support warm lead handoff and follow‑up in partnership with the Growth team
- Have 2+ years of experience in hospitality, community, coworking, or space operations
- Naturally create calm, welcoming environments
- Love keeping spaces organized, polished, and running smoothly
- Are dependable, punctual, and comfortable being the in‑space decision maker
- Communicate clearly and thoughtfully with a wide range of people
- Are tech‑comfortable and detail‑oriented (bonus: Hub Spot, Notion, or Slack fluency)
