A large, global law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Executive Assistant to provide executive support to two partners in its Chicago office. This role has a refined, corporate-focused scope and is intended for an experienced legal or corporate professional who operates as a trusted executive partner.
The experienced Legal Executive Assistant will support day-to-day practice operations, attorney priorities, and team coordination within an established structure.
Key Responsibilities- Provide executive-level administrative support to two partners with differing working styles
- Manage calendars, scheduling, priorities, and follow-ups with sound judgment and discretion
- Prepare for and support internal and external meetings, including coordination of agendas and materials
- Provide administrative support related to recruiting efforts and interview coordination
- Support team coordination and practice-related projects as needed
- Serve as a liaison between attorneys, internal teams, and external contacts
- Draft, proofread, and finalize correspondence, presentations, and business materials
- Coordinate travel, expenses, and time entry in collaboration with internal support teams
- Maintain organization and accuracy of information, materials, and work product
- 5+ years of experience specifically as an executive legal assistant in a large law firm or professional services organization (Think BIG FOUR, for example)
- 5+ years of experience supporting law firm partners or executives within a professional services organization (Think BIG FOUR, for example)
- Strong judgment, professionalism, and discretion with confidential matters
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing competing priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and virtual collaboration tools
- Salary range: $88,000–$117,000
- Workweek: 37.5 hours
- Onsite requirement: Fully onsite for the first 30–90 days, depending on ramp-up and performance
- Post-ramp: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
- Recruiter (Ana Bird) submits candidate through client portal with candidate approval required
- Initial digital interview with recorded video questions
- Interviews with hiring manager and partners
- Comprehensive background check initiated early in the process
