Associate Registrar-Student Services and Credentials
The salary range for this role is $65,000-$70,000 and is commensurate with experience.
SummaryThe Associate Registrar works with the Registrar and office staff to plan and direct the activities and develop policies, procedures, and long-term goals for the Office of the Registrar. Interpret and enforce university academic and administrative policies for faculty, staff, students, parents, and the general public. Develop and implement practices and procedures for the Office of the Registrar, including course scheduling, registration, and classroom scheduling.
Work collaboratively with academic and other administrative offices regarding academic and administrative policies and procedures as they relate to course scheduling, registration, and room scheduling.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Registrar’s Office experience preferred in class scheduling, project management, or similar role in higher education.
- Proficiency with Banner is highly recommended. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Must possess excellent critical thinking skills, the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge and practice of essential student records protocol including adherence to FERPA regulations and AACRAO guidelines is recommended.
- This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. The position requires interaction with staff, students, faculty, administration, various representatives of other institutions, and the general public. The Associate Registrar will also be required to represent the university both internally and externally in the performance of job duties.
- This position provides customer service to staff, students, faculty, administration, representatives of other institutions, and the general public on a daily basis. This involves interpretation and enforcement of university policies and procedures. This position must also relay timely and accurate academic and student record data in accordance with FERPA and university policy to university constituents and the public as needed, providing appropriate referrals to other resources, or escalating issues as needed.
The Associate Registrar will collect and relay concise and unambiguous information in order to assess and resolve issues through various channels. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required. Knowledge or willingness to learn SQL helpful.
Recommend and participate in the development, implementation and changes to university policies, processes and procedures regarding student records. Ensure changes are communicated to the University community. Interpret and enforce academic rules and regulations. Provide ad hoc and annual reporting to analyze trends, course and student enrollment and changes as needed

Assures the accuracy and security of student information by developing procedure for maintaining student records in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and conducting data discrepancy reviews and resolving errors on student records related to course registration, grades, or appeals. Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of all Veterans Education benefits, as well as the regulations of the Department of Veteran Affairs and institutional policies. Certify enrollment through Enrollment Manager. Keep VA informed of veteran enrollment status as well as other eligible persons receiving benefits. Certify enrollment in accordance with University’s Yellow Ribbon agreement. Report enrollment changes within 30 days per VA guidelines.
