Primary Functions:
Provide administrative support to the Assistant State's Attorneys assigned to the Traffic Unit.
Working Environment:
Hours:
Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Physical Requirements:
Light Work:
The position requires the ability to stand or walk frequently, often for extended periods. You may need to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds regularly, and occasionally heavier items. The job may also involve a significant amount of walking or standing relative to sedentary roles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
* Type and prepare subpoenas, motions, answers, and other correspondence as required
* Pick-up and drop-off daily court call sheets, DUI reports and mail from the Daley Center Clerk's Office and the Chicago Police Department
* Create DUI files using various programs to retrieve driver abstract, arrest photo, rap sheet, arrest report and criminal backgrounds, etc.
* Answer reception switchboard
* Copy disks
* Filing (requires reaching and bending)
* Retrieve certified abstracts for Divisions within SAO and agencies outside of SAO
* Copying, faxing, emailing, and scanning documents
* Maintain confidentiality of information and systems
* Interact with State's Attorney's Office employees and personnel of outside agencies
* Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed or required
Required:
* The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* The candidate must have excellent organizational skills, and can multi-task
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Preferred:
* Working knowledge of CRIMES, NICE, SharePoint, and Secretary of State.
* Typing speed of 50+wpm
