Office Administrator/ Coordinator, Virtual Assistant/ Remote Admin
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and service‑minded Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact in our downtown Chicago Headquarters. This individual will sit at the front desk and play a critical role in creating a warm, organized, and welcoming environment for clients, employees, and guests. In addition to front desk responsibilities, this position supports office operations, kitchen management, and event coordination at the Chicago office.
Key Responsibilities- Greet and welcome clients, employees, and visitors with professionalism and warmth, offering refreshments and directing them to the appropriate person or meeting room.
- Manage the tidiness of reception area, conference rooms, kitchens, storage closets and other common areas ensuring they remain clean, organized, and presentable. This includes emptying the dishwashers, cleaning out the refrigerator and various other housekeeping tasks for the Chicago office.
- Manage a multi‑line phone system, taking messages and appropriately directing incoming calls, emails, and inquiries.
- Maintain and stock the kitchen with food, beverages, and supplies; monitor and manage inventory.
- Manage office supplies inventory by regularly checking work rooms and storage rooms to ensure supplies are ordered and restocked.
- Maintain office security while working with our suite security vendor. This includes monitoring visitor access, issuing security passes for visitors and employees.
- Assist with the coordination and set‑up of internal and external office events, meetings, and client gatherings as well as assist employees in Chicago office with various needs and requests.
- Support general office operations, such as overnight shipping, data entry, scanning, photocopying, binding, faxing documents, mail handling, receiving deliveries, managing meeting room bookings, and vendor coordination as needed.
- Act as tenant point of contact for the building to ensure we remain compliant and maintain a good relationship with building management. This includes registering guests and vendors, coordinating work orders and housekeeping for our suite, and fulfilling floor captain duties as part of the tenant emergency teams.
- Serve as a proactive resource for employees and guests, addressing needs or escalating concerns when appropriate.

- Two or more years of prior receptionist, administrative, or office support experience required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience preparing and submitting expense reports
- Experience using office technology such as:
- Calendar and scheduling tools
- Basic conference room technology (Web Ex, presentation displays)
- Office equipment including printers, scanners, and copiers
- Ability to quickly learn internal systems, processes, and office tools
This is an hourly non‑exempt position. Range is $25 - $30 an hour.
This role is based on site at Curi Capital’s downtown Chicago office and requires consistent front desk presence Monday through Friday 8:30am – 5pm.
The base salary will be commensurate with an individual's work experience and educational background.
