Hours:

35 hours per week, 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday, with potential for overtime opportunities.

Description

The 16th Judicial Circuit is seeking a Jury Commission Clerk responsible for preparation of the general jury list, summoning, selection, and verification of eligible jurors for civil and criminal trials held at the Kane County Court facilities.

• Determine the number of jurors needed for jury service weekly
• Summon the number of jurors needed
• Code and enter juror information into the Genesis Jury System
• Respond to inquiries by summoned jurors by mail, phone or in person
• Determine qualifications for jury service and excuse for undue hardship
• Conduct jury check-in at the Kane County Courthouse
• Print and scan juror profile questionnaires and juror summons
• Prepare service records for jurors
• Process juror payments
• Perform general office duties (e.g., phone, mail, filing)

• Patience, respect and tact in assisting a wide constituency ranging from judges and attorneys to jurors
• No less than two years' experience working directly with the public
• Ability to handle periods of high-volume incoming calls, including agitated and stressed individuals
• Computer proficiency and data entry experience
• Ability to cooperate and maintain a good work relationship with co-workers
• High school diploma or equivalency
