Overview

The Academic Support Administrator (ASA) serves as the primary administrative liaison for graduate and undergraduate students, faculty, and department staff. The ASA coordinates program requirements, academic policies, and appointment processes, ensuring compliance with university and departmental standards.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret and apply department and university policies to support student and faculty needs.
  • Coordinate graduate and undergraduate program administration, including admissions, recruitment, degree tracking, and course scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate records of student fellowships, financial aid, enrollment data, and appointment documentation.
  • Advise faculty and staff on student concerns, FERPA compliance, and Title IX referrals.
  • Assist with faculty and other academic appointee onboarding, including job advertisements, memos, and orientation.
  • Draft Spring reviews for graduate students and edit dissertations for PhD students and research assistants.
  • Collect and report data for financial stewardship and program evaluation.
  • Represent the department in student affairs training and committee work.
  • Collaborate with the Financial and Academic Affairs Administrator and department leadership on policy and procedural matters.
Qualifications

Minimum: College or university degree in a related field; less than 2 years of work experience in a related academic environment.
Preferred: Higher education administrative experience; progressively responsible roles; strong organizational and analytical skills.

Technical Skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and standard email/internet applications.

Working Conditions
  • Office environment with extensive computer use.
  • Travel within the campus as needed.
Compensation & Benefits

Schedule: 37.5 weekly hours.
FLSA Status: Exempt.
Pay Range: $55,000.00 – $62,000.00 per annum.
