Assignment Type: Temp-to-Hire

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 / hour

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM-5:00 PM | 100% Onsite

Addison Group is partnering with a well-established real estate organization seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to join its Chicago team. This is an excellent temp-to-hire opportunity for someone who enjoys organization, document management, and supporting legal and transactional operations in a collaborative office environment.

About the Role

The Legal Administrative Assistant provides administrative support including ensuring documents, records, and transactions are organized and completed accurately. This position plays a key role in managing files, coordinating legal documentation, tracking transaction activity, and assisting with day-to-day departmental operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, possesses strong written communication skills, and enjoys working in a fast-paced professional setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, organize, and maintain transaction and legal files throughout the lifecycle of acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects.
  • Prepare correspondence, closing notifications, engagement letters, and other administrative documentation.
  • Assist with assembling and tracking due diligence materials to support real estate transactions.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical filing systems for legal and transaction records.
  • Monitor transaction timelines and follow up on outstanding documentation to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Prepare and organize closing binders while tracking post-closing requirements.
  • Support document routing and maintain internal legal templates and standardized forms.
  • Update internal databases, trackers, and records with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist with records retention, document management, and department compliance procedures.
  • Provide administrative support to legal leadership and due diligence professionals as needed.
Qualifications
  • Previous administrative, legal assistant, legal secretary, or document management experience preferred.
  • Exposure to a legal office, law firm, real estate, or corporate legal department is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute to a collaborative team.
