The Fund for Leaders Information Manager is responsible for effective data strategies and management, leads several key program processes, and manages the synod and congregation scholarships for the ELCA Fund for Leaders.
This role may be remote or hybrid depending on residency, but candidates must reside within the United States or the District of Columbia and be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. All persons hired will verify identity and eligibility to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities- Manage ELCA Grant Maker processes for Synod and Congregation scholarships, including producing and sending synods their annual reports, training and coordinating nominees with synod representatives, and communicating with applicants.
- Implement strategies and procedures for accurate and timely management of all information related to Fund for Leaders scholarships, endowments, stewardship contacts, awards, and recipients in the ECIS database; automate processes with Advancement Services and IT.
- Generate and verify all data for the FFL Annual Report, assist the FFL Director with the student/donor match process, and manage the collection and distribution of student thank‑you letters.
- Serve as the FFL team’s in‑office presence, monitoring FFL mail, distributing to appropriate colleagues, and coordinating/distributing FFL swag materials for partners and events.
- Manage the program’s calendar and tasks in Microsoft Planner, updating with appropriate documents for continuity.
- Maintain excellent relationships and responsive communication with synod staff, applicants and recipients, donors, and ELCA seminary staff.
- Assist in maintaining an active presence for the FFL program on ELCA Lead Net, and support team efforts to grow platform usage.
- Work with CCL Leadership teammates to support the team’s efforts and continual improvement of data processes and procedures.
- Collect and analyze data on Synod and Congregation nomination process, recommending operational improvements as needed.

- 3+ years of experience in a related field;
Bachelor’s degree in analytics, non‑profit management, or related area, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience. - Experience using a grantmaking system, CRM, or other database; solid working knowledge of or ability to learn ELCA Grant Maker (Fluxx) platform and Blackbaud integrated CRM.
- Strong analytical skills: comprehend patterns in data, design and implement processes/solutions, evaluate data for accuracy, troubleshoot issues.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; knowledge of Adobe PDF and Microsoft Planner preferred.
- AI competence, Microsoft CoPilot, and Power BI preferred.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills; self‑starter; ability to manage time and projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with sensitive materials and maintain appropriate confidentiality.

- Minimum Technical
Competency:
computer knowledge that enables operation of a Windows computer and basic troubleshooting; fluency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, etc.).
Regularly required to talk and hear, use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone. The position requires sitting for long periods and may require lifting boxes of materials. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
