Position Overview:

The Illinois Pollution Control Board (IPCB) is seeking to hire an Assistant Clerk of the Board. This position is responsible for the docketing of adjudicatory and regulatory pleadings and filings. The position advises and consults with Board members and administrative staff on legal requirements pursuant to federal and state mandates and gathers information regarding the status of pending contested cases.

Essential Functions

* Responsible for assisting the Board's clerk in the docketing of adjudicatory and regulatory pleadings and filings.

* Advises and consults with the Clerk, Board members, and administrative staff on requirements pursuant to federal and state mandates.

* Gathers information regarding the status of pending contested cases.

* Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonable within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

* Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration.

* Requires one year of professional experience in a public or private organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program.

Preferred Qualifications

* One year of professional experience, preferably in State government.

Conditions of Employment

* Requires the ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.

* Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including schedule, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime. This required the ability to work evenings and weekends.

* Requires the ability to pass a background check.
