The Opportunity
The Administrative Assistant serves as the primary administrative support for the Gary Chapman Chair of Moody Theological Seminary. This position facilitates the Chair's work by managing scheduling, coordinating internal and external communications, supporting strategic initiatives, arranging travel and accommodations, and overseeing a variety of administrative functions.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent judgment, professionalism, strong communication skills, and a commitment to serving faculty, staff, and ministry partners with excellence.
What You’ll Do
Communication & Coordination
- Coordinate communication between the Chair and various Moody departments, including Education, Radio, and Publishing.
- Professionally manage correspondence and communication related to speaking engagements, agendas, reports, and other ministry activities.
- Collaborate with Seminary administrative staff to ensure effective communication and coordination across departments.
- Facilitate communication between the Chicago and Michigan campuses of Moody Theological Seminary.
- Support communication and coordination with Facilities and other operational departments as needed.
Administrative Support
- Manage and maintain the Chair's calendar and scheduling needs.
- Coordinate travel arrangements, lodging, and accommodations.
- Prepare and organize documents, reports, meeting materials, and related administrative resources.
- Maintain records and administrative processes while ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
Strategic Project Support
- Assist with the coordination and implementation of strategic initiatives and special projects.
- Monitor project timelines, communications, and follow-up activities to support the Chair's priorities.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
Additional Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Seminary and the Gary Chapman Chair.

- Associate's degree or combination of education and work experience in a supporting role.
- Commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
- Strong servant-leadership mindset and willingness to support faculty and administrative staff.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and administrative abilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency with office technology, systems, and productivity software.
- Authorization to work in the United States without employment sponsorship.
