Medical Department Receptionist

Location: Chicago, IL

Pay: $23.66+ per hour

Schedule: Fully Onsite

We are seeking a professional and organized Medical Department Receptionist to support daily administrative operations in a busy workplace health office. This temporary position is ideal for candidates with strong customer service, clerical, and office support experience who thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the front desk point of contact for the Medical Department
  • Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls while providing excellent customer service
  • Maintain, organize, file, and retrieve medical and employee records as needed
  • Assist with FMLA paperwork collection, processing, and record management
  • Schedule MRI appointments and coordinate follow-up visits
  • Process medical record requests, subpoenas, and documentation while maintaining confidentiality
  • Maintain logs for incoming, outgoing, and transferred records
  • Verify physician statements and support employee-related documentation requests
  • Order office and clerical supplies and maintain inventory levels
  • Coordinate facility-related requests and assist with general office operations
  • Keep work areas organized and ensure smooth day-to-day administrative support
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous clerical, administrative, receptionist, or front office experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and recordkeeping skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
  • Medical office, medical assistant (MA), patient care technician (PCT), or healthcare experience preferred
