Automotive Lube Technician

Position Summary

The Automotive Lube Technician is responsible for performing routine vehicle maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid inspections, and multi-point vehicle inspections. This position plays a critical role in ensuring customer vehicles are maintained safely and efficiently while providing exceptional customer service and supporting the dealership’s service department operations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform oil and filter changes according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Complete tire rotations, tire pressure checks, and basic tire maintenance.
  • Inspect and replenish vehicle fluids, including coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, transmission fluid, and windshield washer fluid.
  • Conduct multi-point vehicle inspections and accurately document findings.
  • Inspect belts, hoses, batteries, filters, and other vehicle components for wear and recommend necessary maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate repair orders and communicate inspection results to service advisors.
  • Ensure all work is completed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free from safety hazards.
  • Properly use and maintain dealership tools, equipment, and shop supplies.
  • Follow all OSHA, environmental, and dealership safety procedures.
  • Assist technicians with additional maintenance and repair tasks as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous automotive maintenance experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to operate vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and shop conditions.
  • Ability to safely operate lifts, jacks, power tools, and other automotive equipment.
