We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist and Operations Manager for our downtown Chicago office. The ideal candidate will have experience in both human resources management and general business operations. We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, collaborates effectively, manages multiple priorities, and demonstrates exceptional attention to detail.
This is a full-time, in‑office role based in downtown Chicago, Monday through Friday, with one hybrid day per week.
What You’ll Do- Serve as the initial point of contact for employee relations matters, including coaching, discipline, performance improvement plans, and documentation
- In coordination with our HR Partner (PEO), manage all leave‑of‑absence requests (FMLA, disability, paid parental leave, etc.)
- Maintain and update the policy manual for our five‑state firm footprint
- Provide support and guidance for the firm’s performance management system
- Review and update job descriptions as needed
- Source, interview, and hire candidates for staff roles and our tiered services program
- Onboard new staff members
- Develop and maintain building evacuation plans for all 12 offices across the firm
- Provide local operations management support as needed
- Assist with special projects as assigned
- 3+ years of Human Resources experience
- 2+ years of Operations experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience with HR and time‑management systems preferred
- No immigration sponsorship is available for this role
- Competitive salary: $75,000–$85,000 annually
