Business Analyst – Alternative Insurance Solutions Position Overview

Ryan Specialty is seeking an entry-level Business Analyst to support the development of alternative insurance solution workflows within a fast-growing organization.

This role focuses on data analysis, workflow design, reporting, and supporting new tools and processes that drive innovative insurance programs. The position offers training and growth opportunities for candidates new to the industry.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize business workflows.

• Support development of alternative insurance programs and roadmaps.

• Assist in creating new tools, rating methodologies, and automation solutions.

• Perform data analysis to support strategic decisions.

• Build reports and dashboards to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities.

• Track metrics related to program effectiveness and operations.

• Communicate with internal teams, brokers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment.

• Support compliance activities and monitor industry trends.

• Strong interest in the insurance industry.

• Analytical mindset with strong organization and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments.

• Enthusiastic about learning and building new solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree (or minor) in Business, Economics, or quantitative field.

• 0–1 year of experience (entry-level; training provided).

• Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables; VBA/macros a plus).

• Basic SQL knowledge for data extraction and analysis.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Attention to detail and strong time-management ability.

• Salary: $64,000 – $80,000
