Position Overview

At JMark, strategic leadership relies on trusted advisors who keep operations running smoothly and priorities on track. We are seeking Staff Officers across multiple levels to provide high-level executive support, strategic partnership, and subject matter expertise to senior government leaders.

Staff Officers serve as trusted advisors and chief-of-staff style partners, ensuring executives remain focused on mission priorities while anticipating needs, preparing critical materials, and driving progress on high-impact initiatives. At more specialized levels, Staff Officers also provide mission‑specific expertise to enhance responsiveness, support information requests, and produce polished reports and briefings.

This multi‑level role is ideal for professionals with exceptional discretion, organizational agility, and the ability to thrive in complex, fast‑paced environments.

Key Responsibilities Executive Partnership & Strategic Support
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to one or more senior leaders, ensuring time and attention remain focused on high‑priority initiatives.
  • Anticipate executive needs, prepare decision‑ready materials, and track follow‑through on critical actions.
  • Provide proactive, solutions‑oriented counsel to navigate ambiguity and competing priorities.
Travel, Scheduling & Logistics
  • Coordinate complex travel and logistical arrangements in collaboration with travel coordinators.
  • Ensure seamless scheduling, minimizing disruptions and maximizing executive readiness.
  • Oversee protocol compliance for secure and sensitive travel requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement & Representation
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing the executive(s) with discretion and professionalism.
  • Facilitate communication across organizational lines, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Represent the agency in high‑level interactions with the utmost integrity.
Mission Expertise & SME Support
  • Provide specialized mission‑area expertise to enhance executive responsiveness.
  • Research, draft, edit, and produce reports, briefings, and correspondence tailored to mission requirements.
  • Respond to requests for information with accuracy, clarity, and speed.
Multi‑Executive & Task Oversight
  • In some cases, support two or three executives, balancing competing demands with precision.
  • Coordinate across multiple priorities, ensuring smooth execution of both administrative and strategic functions.
  • Mentor and guide junior support staff where applicable.

Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Political Science, International Affairs, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience providing executive‑level or chief‑of‑staff style support in government, defense, or corporate environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex travel, scheduling, communications, and strategic initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Preferred
  • Experience supporting ODNI, DoD, or other senior government executives.
  • Familiarity with secure travel coordination, executive‑level protocols, and interagency processes.
  • Subject matter expertise in intelligence, defense, or national security mission areas.
