About the Opportunity
Our client—a globally active transportation advisory firm with a reputation for rigorous work and long-term client relationships—seeks a senior commercial leader to expand its private‑sector presence across North America. The firm’s strengths in planning, analytics, and strategy are well known; now they are looking to bring those capabilities more intentionally to developers, concessionaires, logistics operators, investors, and mobility‑focused firms.
This role suits someone who enjoys opening doors, strengthening partnerships, and helping private clients navigate a rapidly shifting landscape of opportunity, risk, and investment.
What You Will LeadPrivate‑Sector Relationships & Market Development
You will cultivate and grow relationships with organizations across the private transportation and infrastructure ecosystem. Rather than waiting for RFPs, you’ll stay ahead of client needs—engaging early, opening conversations that lead to meaningful opportunity, and ensuring clients understand how the firm can support their evolving objectives.
Strategic Direction & Market PositioningYou will guide the firm’s approach to the private market, recognizing where new value is emerging—whether in freight and logistics, P3 delivery, asset‑focused strategies, or mobility innovation. You’ll help craft the messages, offerings, and positioning that make the firm’s strengths clear and compelling to private buyers.
Internal Collaboration & LeadershipYou will work closely with practice leaders and technical teams, bringing commercial perspective into early‑stage thinking and helping others develop stronger client instincts. Leadership has repeatedly emphasized the desire for a VP who will strengthen the firm’s BD culture—reinforcing habits of proactive engagement, thoughtful follow‑through, and long‑view relationship building.
Who Will ThriveYou bring a relationship‑driven approach and a history of creating opportunity in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments. You understand how private organizations make decisions, how capital is mobilized, and how transportation and infrastructure projects move from concept to implementation.
The strongest candidates will have:
- Extensive experience (generally 15+ years) in commercially oriented roles within transportation, infrastructure, logistics, mobility, investment, or similar environments
- A pattern of building and sustaining executive‑level relationships that lead to growth
- Familiarity with transportation systems, infrastructure delivery models, and private‑sector commercial considerations
- A collaborative, thoughtful style that resonates in a mission‑driven firm where trust and partnership matter
Candidates without a conventional consulting background are encouraged to engage if the spirit of the role resonates.
