About the Role
We are seeking a high‑caliber Strategic Operations Lead to join the Global Membership team. This is a pivotal role designed for a versatile leader who can bridge the gap between high‑level strategy and global operational execution.
In this role, you will lead high‑priority work streams dedicated to the long‑term health, financial sustainability, and value proposition of our Membership program. You will be responsible for defining the commercial frameworks that drive program ROI and overseeing the orchestration of complex, multi‑market initiatives. This is a deeply cross‑functional role requiring the ability to influence global stakeholders across Delivery, Mobility, and broader cross‑functional teams to deliver a seamless member experience.
The ideal candidate is a “strategic doer” who thrives in ambiguity, possesses strong commercial acumen, and has a proven track record of managing large‑scale global programs.
What You'll DoGlobal Strategy & Monetization:
- Develop and refine the commercial strategy for Membership, focusing on initiatives that improve financial sustainability and program margins.
- Partner with regional and business‑line leaders to align on investment frameworks and merchant‑integrated value strategies.
- Identify opportunities to optimize the membership “unit economic” profile through innovative commercial levers and partnership models.
Operational Orchestration:
- Lead the end‑to‑end planning and execution of large‑scale, global program cycles, ensuring consistency in member experience across all markets.
- Create standardized playbooks and governance models that allow for the seamless scaling of global initiatives.
- Act as the central point of contact for cross‑functional teams to ensure operational readiness for major program milestones.
Performance & Experience Insights:
- Analyze global program performance to identify drivers of member engagement and financial health.
- Establish KPIs and measurement frameworks to evaluate the effectiveness of global commercial efforts and member‑facing value propositions.
- Translate complex data into actionable insights for executive leadership to inform the future roadmap of the program.
- 5+ years of experience in strategic operations, management consulting, tech‑strategy, or a related commercial role.
- Experience managing complex, multi‑stakeholder projects.
- Strong analytical foundation with the ability to use data to build business cases and track performance.
- Excellent communication skills with a track record of influencing senior leadership and cross‑functional partners.
- Adaptability: A “generalist” mindset with the ability to pivot between different strategic pillars as the business evolves.
- Commercial Expertise:
Experience with P&L management, monetization strategy, or merchant‑side commercial operations. - Operational Rigor:
Proven ability to build processes from scratch and manage the “machinery” of a global program. - Marketplace
Experience:
Familiarity with high‑growth marketplace dynamics (Rides, Delivery, or Subscription services).
Base salary ranges (USD) by location:
Chicago, MI and NY: $146,000–$162,000;
New York and San Francisco: $162,000–$180,000. Eligible for Uber bonus program, equity award, 401(k), and other benefits. More details on Uber benefits page.
