Primary Function:

The Data Collection Specialist will support the implementation and evaluation of the Target Abuser Call (TAC) program, a Cook County States Attorneys Office (CCSAO) initiative that provides coordinated support to victims in high-risk domestic violence cases. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, accurate, and efficient data collection across the multiple CCSAO and University of Chicago teams involved in the program.

This position will collaborate with legal staff, investigators, service providers, and research partners to support consistent data practices and maintain alignment with program and research goals during a period of expansion.

This is a 2 year, grant funded program

Working Environment:
Full time position Monday
- Friday, Hours 8:30 am 4:30 pm

Physical Requirements:

Light Work:
The position requires the ability to stand or walk frequently. You may need to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds regularly, and occasionally heavier items. The job may also involve a significant amount of walking or standing relative to sedentary roles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Enter, organize, and maintain up-to-date case records across multiple sources

* Help standardize and document data entry processes

* Conduct routine data quality checks to ensure completeness and accuracy

* Identify and help resolve data inconsistencies or gaps

* Serve as a point of coordination between research partners and program staff across multiple teams

* Follow up with TAC teams to ensure accurate data entry

* Support tracking systems that ensure alignment between program implementation, program structure, and research design

* Support data-sharing processes by preparing structured datasets for transfer to research

* Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

Required:

* Bachelors degree in social science, public policy, data science, or a related field

* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

* High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently

* Clear communication skills and the ability to coordinate with a range of stakeholders

* Flexibility to adapt to evolving program needs

* Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred:

* Experience with Microsoft Access

* Experience in research, data collection, or program evaluation (academic or professional experience)

* Experience working with administrative or case management data

* Interest in social impact, research, or public sector work

* Experience identifying process improvements or solving data-related challenges
