Position Summary:
The MRO and Indirect Spend Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of maintenance, repair, and operating supplies (MRO) to support manufacturing operations. This role minimizes downtime by ensuring part availability while driving cost-saving initiatives across indirect spending categories. As well as supporting all indirect spend functions of each Rangen Group site.
What You'll Do:- Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation:Develop and execute category strategies for MRO items (spare parts, fasteners, lubricants, PPE) and indirect services (facility maintenance, utilities, safety) to maximize value.
- Supplier Management:Identify, qualify, and manage key suppliers, conducting regular performance reviews (on-time delivery, quality, cost).
- Inventory Control:Collaborate with maintenance teams to establish optimal inventory levels, including setting min/max thresholds for critical spares to prevent production stops.
- Procurement Process:Manage the "order-to-pay" cycle, including creating purchase orders in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), resolving invoice discrepancies, and facilitating urgent procurement requests.
- Cost Reduction:Analyze spend data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement TCO-based evaluations rather than focusing solely on unit price.
- Compliance & Safety:Ensure adherence to company purchasing policies, safety standards (PPE), and environmental regulations.
- Experience:3-5+ years of experience in procurement, specifically in MRO or indirect spending within a manufacturing environment.
- Education:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
- Skills:Proficiency with ERP systems and MS Excel (data analysis). Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Capabilities:Strong understanding of indirect sourcing functions, manufacturing processes and maintenance requirements.
- Advanced analytical skills: ability to collect and analyze data and problem-solve
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, etc.)
