Procurement Specialist
Location: North Chicago IL (100% Onsite)
Duration: 6+ Months
Shift Time: 8am to 5pm
Pay Range: $22/hr to $25/hr (On W2)
Job Responsibilities- Assist with purchase order (PO) creation and conversion for assigned categories.
- Support PO approvals within delegated authority limits.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve operational issues and invoice discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate documentation for purchases and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
- Participate in supplier communication and help monitor performance metrics.
- Contribute to cost‑saving initiatives and process improvements under guidance from senior team members.
- Assist in preparing bid documents and proposals for routine sourcing activities.
- Provide administrative support for small‑scale RFPs and procurement projects.
- Educate internal stakeholders on existing procurement tools and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–2 years in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain preferred.
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Fieldglass).
- Basic understanding of supplier management and contract administration.
- Interest in developing expertise in category management and sourcing strategies.
