Data Analyst (Entry-Level)

LHH is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to join a growing team in a hybrid capacity in Chicago, IL. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional with a strong analytical mindset and an interest in sustainability, utilities, and financial data. The ideal candidate will have experience working with large datasets and a desire to support data-driven decision-making across utility spend and sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze, validate, and process utility invoice data (electric, gas, water, waste) to ensure billing accuracy and compliance
  • Perform data cleansing, normalization, and quality checks across large and complex datasets
  • Support the creation of dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for cross-functional teams
  • Assist with sustainability reporting efforts, including energy usage and emissions tracking (Scope 1, 2, and utility-related Scope
    3)
  • Maintain data integrity and document methodologies, assumptions, and controls
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to support data accuracy and reporting needs
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 1–2+ years of experience in a data analyst, financial analyst, or related role (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply)
  • Experience working with utility invoices or utility-related datasets preferred
  • Strong financial acumen, including cost and variance analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas; macros a plus)
  • Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Smartsheet
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
  • Exposure to sustainability, ESG reporting, or energy management initiatives
  • Basic understanding of utility rate structures or regulatory concepts
  • Familiarity with energy tracking or invoice management systems
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
