Project Controls Associate
As an Associate in Construction Compliance, you will play a crucial role in supporting construction compliance activities. Your responsibilities will include ensuring adherence to Prevailing Wages & Apprenticeship compliance, Davis-Bacon Act compliance, and managing document control structures. You will independently drive compliance milestones, maintain information integrity within the construction project management system, and support the creation and improvement of processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage construction compliance activities throughout the project lifecycle to deliver project deliverables on scope and schedule.
- Oversee workload across multiple projects to ensure seamless milestone delivery to stakeholders.
- Represent the company in stakeholder discussions and with third-party consultants.
- Manage project deliverables across contractors and scopes to adhere to project schedules.
- Develop relationships with stakeholders, serving as a trusted project team member.
- Establish and lead project meetings and communications to meet construction compliance deliverables.
- Identify and evaluate risks, working with stakeholders to escalate and mitigate compliance risks.
- Provide regular project status updates using the construction project management system.
- Support implementation of best practices and change management within the department.
- Ensure adherence to company document management policies for record-keeping.
- Oversee regulatory requirements to support construction tax benefits, including Prevailing Wage and Davis-Bacon.
- Maintain relationships with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Implement and manage document control processes for accuracy and organization.
- Conduct regular audits of internal processes to ensure compliance and identify improvements.
- Serve as a resource for onboarding new team members and supporting junior associates.
- Provide training and support to stakeholders on compliance requirements and best practices.
- Set up and maintain projects in the construction project management system.
- Create and generate reports, analyze data, identify issues, and propose solutions to Project Managers.
- Demonstrate strong communication and coordination with other departments.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 years of document control and/or process auditing experience.
- Experience with Prevailing Wage, Davis-Bacon Act, and Local Content Compliance.
- Proficiency in document control systems and auditing methodologies.
- Strong solution-seeking, teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Construction experience and/or construction internship preferred.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent organizational abilities.
- Ability to comprehend and carry out instructions with minimal direction.
- Experience with project coordination and management of projects with multiple stakeholder interfaces preferred.
- Renewable energy experience and/or renewable energy internship preferred.
Work Environment
This position requires working five days a week in the office.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $46.00/hr.
