Financial Analyst, Risk Manager/Analyst
Commodities Operations Analysts work closely with Portfolio Managers to support energy management strategies through fundamental research and data analysis. The ideal candidate would be able to excel in a fast-paced environment to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the energy management platforms. Successful analysts are given greater responsibility and input into energy management decisions, with the opportunity to grow into any number of senior-level positions leveraging the analyst's greatest strengths and value-add.
Key Responsibilities- Develop market reports, update market data, and perform ad-hoc requests
- Support billing and settlements platform
- Support portfolio management team and underlying power and natural gas portfolios
- Establish and infuse organization with drive, professionalism, positive attitude, and high-quality business practices
- Take independent action on handling requests; determine the appropriate course of action, intervene when necessary, and act as a liaison between stakeholders
- Interpret and relay company information, inform Portfolio Managers of any deviation on items requiring personal attention
- Bachelor's degree with minimum 3.5 GPA required
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in an analyst position
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to demonstrate strong technical skills and keep attention to detail
- Able to successfully multitask, work towards extremely challenging goals, and persist in the face of obstacles
- Able to effectively handle difficult requests, build long-term relationships with the business, and be able to manage expectations
- Self-starter who thinks ahead, anticipates questions, finds alternative solutions, and identifies clear objectives
- Strong analytical skills and organizational skills
- Critical thinking, ability to suggest improvements and identify risks
- Able to adapt to changes and new challenges
- Able to communicate effectively and maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Able to demonstrate accuracy, good judgment, initiative and discretion in business related transactions
- Experience in deregulated power and gas industry preferred, but not required
