Overview
Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. seeks an Assistant Vice President to lead U.S. Energy Commodities Back Office Delivery operations in Chicago, IL. The role oversees option expiry and energy commodity delivery processes across Intercontinental Exchange Inc. (ICE) Europe, Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Group, and EEX, ensuring accurate trade and position processing, end‑of‑day reporting, regulatory compliance, stakeholder coordination, and issue resolution.
Responsibilities- Manage, review, and communicate all U.S. Futures Exchange Option expiry and delivery processing requirements for energy products on ICE Europe, CME Group, and EEX, including deliveries background, in/out‑of‑money positions, and Exercise/Assignment/Abandonment notifications.
- Oversee all end‑of‑day processes between Deutsche Bank systems, third‑party vendors, regulatory reporting agencies, and exchanges, generating statements, open position reports, and expiry and delivery notifications.
- Monitor all incoming foreign market trades for U.S. domiciled clients to ensure accurate position reporting and compliance with delivery protocols.
- Research and resolve issues and inquiries regarding exchange or bank regulatory rules, requirements, and functionality, liaising with clients, client service, trade support, trading desks, balancers, and outside firms to address position‑reporting issues.
- Collaborate with compliance on internal department audits and provide documentation for inquiries from regulatory, financial, or exchange personnel.
- Review the Daily Checklist to ensure all daily tasks are completed within the designated timeline and support ad‑hoc reports and requests as needed.
- Thorough knowledge of CME Group and ICE applications and systems, regulations, clearing, expiration, and delivery reporting for markets such as Oil, Gas, Power, and Emissions; experience with ICE, CME (NYMEX), EEX and familiarity with MGE, BM&F, EUREX, ME and other foreign markets.
- Good working knowledge and experience with GMI/FIS and Clearvision delivery systems and applications.
- Expert proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Visio).
- Ability to learn proprietary software quickly.
- Moderate futures industry commodities delivery experience and detailed knowledge of energy delivery processes.
- Detail‑oriented with strong ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Proactive escalation, problem‑solving, and root‑cause analysis skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication and management skills.
- Capability to investigate process automation and improvements, documenting workflows and procedural changes.
Employees in this role will work in the Chicago, IL office and operate under the bank’s hybrid working model. The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $118,000 annually. Compensation above this range may be based on experience, education, and other factors.
