POSITIONSUMMARY
The Chicago School is seeking a Part‑Time Campus Operations Coordinator to help maintain a campus environment that is functional, prepared, and ready to support our campus community during our extended operating hours. This part‑time position provides operational coverage during evening and weekend hours, covering weekday evenings (6pm–12am) and rotating weekend shifts (6am–1pm and 12pm–7pm).
PRINCIPAL DUTIESDaily operational support to ensure classrooms, offices, and shared spaces are prepared, functional, and aligned with campus standards. Perform opening and closing procedures, verify building readiness, safety systems, and space conditions, and secure all areas. Maintain a visible campus presence to monitor conditions, identify issues, and ensure a clean and safe environment. Support office moves, furniture reconfigurations, classroom setups, and event-related setups or breakdowns.
Cross‑train on welcome desk workflows to maintain service continuity during peak periods or absences.
Manage incoming and outgoing deliveries, mail, and shipments – sorting, documenting, and ensuring timely distribution. Create and update for faculty, staff, and students in accordance with access protocols. Monitor and replenish inventory for classrooms, offices, kitchens, and shared spaces. Submit, track, and follow up on work orders for maintenance, custodial, and facilities needs; verify completion and communicate updates to stakeholders. Coordinate access and oversee onsite vendors and contractors to meet campus standards.
Monitor the campus operations inbox, addressing inquiries from students, faculty, and staff. Collaborate with the Chicago Operations team, facilities, IT, academic departments, student services, and others to ensure coordinated and timely support. Assist with onboarding and training of student workers. Execute campus emergency procedures, aid evacuations, conduct safety drills, and maintain emergency supplies.
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ years of facilities or operational support experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple operational priorities simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and facilities ticketing systems
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
- Availability to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift, push, and pull approximately 50 pounds
- Associate or bachelor’s degree
- Experience in facilities coordination, customer service, or higher education operations
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, service‑oriented environment
