POSITION SUMMARY

The Chicago School is seeking two Part-Time Campus Services Coordinators to create a welcoming, responsive, and solutions-oriented campus experience. This position serves as a key point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and guests during evening and weekend hours, ensuring campus services remain accessible, professional, and community-focused during our extended operating hours. This role is part of the Chicago Campus Operations team, which oversees daily service, space, and facility operations that keep the campus running smoothly.

SHIFT

SCHEDULE
  • Weekday Coverage: 6pm – 11pm
  • Weekend Coverage:
    Rotating between 6am‑1pm and 12pm‑7pm
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
  • Daily Welcome Desk Support
    • Provide solutions-oriented service to students, faculty, staff and visitors; respond promptly to requests and escalation as needed.
    • Serve as a visible and professional presence in public-facing areas, keeping shared spaces organized, welcoming, and operationally ready.
    • Monitor and respond to the campus operations inbox and general service inquiries, ensuring timely communication and follow-through.
    • Document campus conditions, service trends, and recurring concerns to support operational awareness and continuous improvement.
    • Perform opening and closing procedures, verify space readiness, restock supplies, and log relevant operational updates.
    • Maintain accurate visitor information and coordinate communication between campus hosts and security.
    • Answer incoming phone calls and route inquiries to the appropriate individuals or departments in a timely, professional manner.
  • Team and Campus Support
    • Work with the Operations Manager to support scheduling and information management related to facilities usage and campus events.
    • Provide on-site support for academic residencies, meetings, and special events including room reservations, room configurations, and classroom set‑ups.
    • Conduct pre-event and post-event room checks to ensure readiness and compliance with campus standards.
    • Support signage placement, hospitality flow, and room reset standards for campus programming.
    • Crosstrain in operational workflows to maintain service continuity during peak periods, staffing gaps, or high-volume campus activity.
    • Assist with onboarding and training of student workers.
    • Execute campus emergency procedures as trained and assist with evacuations, safety drills, and maintenance of emergency supplies.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of customer service or administrative experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple operational priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull approximately 50 pounds.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate or bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in higher education, hospitality, or reception.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
