Whitecap Search is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Director for Indirect Procurement to join a lean yet impressive team. The successful candidate will drive sourcing and procurement activities by leveraging market intelligence and procurement best practices to reduce costs and improve supplier delivery, aligning with our corporate goals.
Responsibilities- Evaluate, analyze, and recommend category strategies, drive RFIs/RFPs, and negotiate supplier contracts to capture value and drive efficiencies and savings where available.
- Serve as a key contact for suppliers and partners, developing strong relationships to become the customer of choice across our critical supplier portfolio.
- Independently perform a variety of complex sourcing and procurement activities to deliver value, cost savings, and risk mitigation.
- Lead the development of HR and Professional Services category management strategies, working to improve total cost of ownership and meet departmental and company goals.
- Negotiate complex vendor contracts and monitor contract compliance to ensure terms and conditions are being met and the expected value is delivered.
- Analyze purchasing patterns, define priorities for assigned category of goods and services, and develop opportunities for cost savings, demand management, and risk mitigation.
- Research and report on industry trends and initiatives; investigate targeted industries, potential suppliers, and critical service factors to develop category strategies.
- Develop and initiate complex requests for proposal documents, review supplier proposals, make supplier recommendations, issue awards, and negotiate supplier contracts.
- Collaborate with HR, business, and operational leads to develop strategic sourcing initiatives and oversee the implementation of key priorities.
- Manage key strategic relationships and serve as a key resource for resolving vendor disputes.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures and applicable legal and regulatory requirements throughout the procurement process.
- Advocate and monitor departmental procurement procedures, and may recommend changes and improvements.
- Ensure high‑quality centralized sourcing and procurement services, promoting and advocating Procurement engagement and compliance with policies.
- Monitor procurement system(s), as well as identify and recommend upgrades and changes.
- Identify and analyze multiple procurement data sources; develop spend trend analysis and key metrics reporting for various stakeholders.
- Support other category management strategies, providing sourcing expertise when needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 8 years of professional experience in a strategic sourcing role, with extensive experience in HR and Professional Services category management for a publicly traded company.
- Experience developing category and supplier strategies.
- Experience using procurement market intelligence tools.
- Experience in executive management reporting.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to influence others.
- Knowledge of P2P processes, category management, and other key procurement best practices.
- Knowledge of US/EU regulations impacting procurement and contracting, including data privacy laws.
- Financial acumen, data analytics skills including the use of common tools such as Excel, PowerBI, or Qlik.
