Job DescriptionPurpose
The Director, Finance Transformation supports Abb Vie’s enterprise-wide finance transformation strategy in partnership with executive leadership - setting the vision and roadmap for long-term organizational change. You will play a pivotal role in identifying, leading and delivering transformation programs (spanning People & Change, Process Change and Improvement and Technology Enablement programs across the global Finance organization). You will oversee projects spanning the full transformation lifecycle - from conducting enterprise value assessments and diligence, to blueprinting work streams that align resources, and driving the execution of Finance and cross functional initiatives.
This role oversees major transformation programs, ensuring initiatives are aligned with strategic objectives and produce measurable business impact. You will be responsible for program governance and delivering best-in-class transformation management practices through leadership of cross-functional teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Planning & Delivery Management
- Work with business leaders to set the vision and strategy for Finance Transformation programs (spanning People & Change, Process Change and Improvement and Technology Enablement programs across the global Finance organization), aligning initiatives with enterprise goals.
- Support the identification, evaluation, prioritization, and reduction of program risks and dependencies, ensuring that regulatory, compliance, and operational risks are addressed in all program activities.
- Raise critical risks and recommended solutions, and work with workstream leads to establish baseline plans, track progress, and apply corrective actions when delivery risks arise.
- Accountable for driving results within a matrixed environment, including functional, cross-functional, and global teams.
Program Governance & Control
- Enable and maintain the governance framework for the operating model transformation, including steering committees, program approvals and build workshops.
- Ensure decisions, actions, and dependencies are detailed, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner.
- Develop, implement, and rigorously monitor key processes and metrics to deliver actionable reporting to the Transformation Steering Committee(s), Executive Leadership Team, and other management groups.
Collaboration & Communication
- Cultivate positive relationships with business leaders, key collaborators, and cross-functional partners to ensure agreement and engagement in transformation roadmap.
- Develop and complete a clear communication and reporting strategy tailored to executive sponsors, business leaders, and delivery teams.
- Produce high-quality program reporting (e.g., dashboards, status reports, executive packs) that provide clear insight into progress, risks, and decisions needed.
- Regularly assess the performance of internal teams and external partners, taking accountability for swiftly identifying issues and driving appropriate escalation and resolution.
