Quality Control Area Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Area Manager, Technical Services (Aggregates) plays a crucial role in overseeing the delivery of technical support and services within a designated area of an aggregates company. They ensure the efficient operation of technical systems, resolve complex issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. This role requires a blend of strong technical knowledge in aggregates production and processing, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.

Assist plant management in implementing Business plans and strategic quality control and assurance initiatives. Develop workable solutions to business plan and product issues through the use of good judgment and analytical skills.

Assist plant management in implementing Business plans and strategic quality control and assurance initiatives. Develop workable solutions to business plan and product issues through the use of good judgment and analytical skills.

• Maintain compliance of the quality control laboratories and the calibrating of test equipment as required by governing agencies.
• Conduct independent compliance sampling, testing, and audits of the QC labs and procedures at plants and sales yards. Report findings to plant management and key division management.
• Assist Business Units with the belt sampling program for crushers and screens including auditing compliance.
• Participate in plant optimization efforts.
• Assist plant management in the interpretation of testing data to improve plant optimization and efficiencies. Understand the plant flows and production processes for assigned Business Units.
• Assist sales and marketing efforts by having a high degree of product knowledge and; applications.
• Investigate, resolve and document customer complaints.
• Assist in the hiring, training and development of new and existing Process Technicians.
• Perform all Process Technician duties and fill in as needed.
• Assist in the development of new and improved quality control testing procedures and standardization.
• Train Process Technicians and Operations Managers on the product quality database.
