Senior Project Manager - Commercial HVAC Construction - Chicago, IL

Gryphon Oakwood is partnering with a well-established, growth-focused mechanical contractor with a strong presence across the Chicago market in high-rises, office buildings. Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale commercial projects, including ground-up construction and major renovations.

This role will oversee multiple complex projects, ensuring exceptional execution, profitability, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, deep experience in commercial HVAC construction, and a proven ability to manage teams, budgets, schedules, and stakeholder relationships from preconstruction through closeout.

• Lead multiple large-scale commercial HVAC construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Manage budgets, schedules, staffing, and procurement to ensure profitability and timely delivery.
• Serve as the primary contact for owners, GCs, architects, and internal teams.
• Mentor and oversee project managers, engineers, and field staff.
• Manage contracts, change orders, risk, and project controls.
• Ensure safety, quality, and client satisfaction across all projects.

• 8+ years in commercial mechanical/HVAC construction project management, with senior-level experience.
• Proven track record managing large, complex projects (ground-up and renovations).
• Strong leadership, financial, and organizational skills.
• Ability to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
