Construction Superintendent Job Description
- Lead and manage field crews and subcontractors for efficient daily operations.
- Oversee activities and performance of sub-subcontractors.
- Coordinate with Project Manager and General Superintendent for project progress and success.
- Attend client meetings to ensure work aligns with Contract Documents.
- Plan and optimize schedules for crew, equipment, and materials.
- Develop contingency plans for potential delays or disruptions.
- Communicate daily with Project Managers and General Superintendent.
- Submit daily reports, including production unit tracking and time updates.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety protocols.
- Enforce company policies across all jobsite activities.

Skills & Qualifications
- Advanced plan reading (civil / underground blueprints) experience required.
- Experience in leading a crew and supervising subcontractors & trades onsite.
- Experience with civil projects, site utilities, commercial earthwork/excavating.
- Knowledge of GPS, grade management, and laser technology within earthwork/excavating.
As a Superintendent, the primary work environment is onsite in the field. There is typically a trailer setup with office space for administrative tasks. The role requires traveling between job-sites throughout the week, with mileage compensation provided for travel exceeding 60 miles from site to site.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $48.00/hr.
