Construction Superintendent II – Commercial Construction Project Leader

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent II to lead field operations and drive commercial construction projects to successful completion. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee all aspects of site management, coordinate subcontractors and trade partners, manage project budgets, and ensure all construction activities meet stringent quality standards, safety protocols, and schedule requirements. Your proven construction management expertise will guide project teams, enhance client relationships, and deliver operational excellence across diverse projects in the higher education, K-12 education, and industrial construction markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all on-site construction operations and field activities for commercial construction projects
  • Supervise, coordinate, and direct subcontractors, trade partners, and field personnel to ensure project success
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion and proactive resolution of scheduling conflicts
  • Monitor and control project budgets, labor costs, and material expenses to maintain financial performance
  • Enforce safety protocols and OSHA compliance standards to maintain a safe construction site environment
  • Conduct quality control inspections and ensure all work meets or exceeds project specifications and building codes
  • Serve as primary on-site point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and project stakeholders
  • Mentor and develop field staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Manage project documentation, daily reports, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Coordinate site logistics, material deliveries, and equipment management
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks with construction crews
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience managing commercial construction projects in field superintendent or construction management roles
  • Demonstrated success in managing commercial construction projects from groundbreaking through completion
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, building systems, and construction sequencing
  • Strong expertise in construction scheduling software, project management tools, and construction technology
  • Proven skills in site scheduling, labor management, workforce coordination, and budget control
  • Exceptional leadership abilities with experience managing, motivating, and mentoring construction teams
  • Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • General contractor experience in Higher Education, K-12 education, or Industrial construction markets strongly preferred
  • OSHA 30-hour certification preferred
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the state for project assignments
  • Proficiency in construction management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling applications
