VP of Preconstruction​/Development and Construction Facilitation

Location:

Metro Chicago, with site visits 1‑2 days a week and occasional overnight travel up to 25%.

• Champion the development and implementation of real‑estate projects by creating comprehensive approaches, timelines, budgets, programs, and logistics plans.
• Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and third parties to meet project goals.
• Select and lead multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, contractors, analysts, operators, and lending institutions to execute large‑scale developments from ideation to completion.
• Steer project budgets, timelines, and deliverables to align with client needs while fostering strong relationships.
• Manage the pre‑construction process, overseeing development and design teams for strict compliance with budget, schedule, and program.
• Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to develop pre‑construction scoping and advanced project alignment for funding and project calendarization.
• Oversee construction progress, monitor contractors and vendors, and adjust as needed to ensure successful completion.
• Provide comprehensive oversight of all project aspects, including design, construction, legal, and financial elements.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with developments through contractual management.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.

• Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management degree from an accredited institution.
• 6–8+ years of experience in development, owner’s representation, design, or construction fields.
• Experience with an owner’s facility team or as a consultant preferred; construction cost estimating experience desirable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Primavera or equivalent scheduling software.
• Must reside in or near Chicago, IL, or be willing to relocate.
