GFT is seeking a Construction Manager – Roadway and Bridges to join our Construction Services Team in Chicago or Rockford, IL. This role requires regular attendance at our Chicago and/or Rockford, IL office.

You’ll Be Challenged to Do

Responsibilities
  • Conduct and document project meetings with clients.
  • Prepare and monitor project schedules.
  • Perform periodic construction observation and inspection.
  • Possess basic surveying interpretation skills.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence.
  • Prepare and check quantities for measurement and payment purposes.
  • Prepare construction payment applications.
  • Negotiate and prepare construction change orders.
  • Review submittals and other technical data.
  • Be proficient with construction management software for document management and scheduling.
  • Perform constructibility reviews and value engineering studies.
  • Assist with Risk Management assessments.
  • Prepare and monitor Quality Control and Assurance Plans.
Education | Experience
  • BS in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.
  • IDOT Documentation Certification, required.
  • 7+ years of experience.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 preferred.
  • 10‑hour OSHA Safety course.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess a driver's license to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
Compensation

The salary range for this role is $98,000–$140,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
