Location: Nationwide (home location flexible)
Travel: Frequent travel; home every other weekend
Novak Construction is a Chicago-based national general contractor specializing in complex projects across retail, healthcare, industrial, and cold storage sectors. We are known for quality, safety, and strong client partnerships.
We’re seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead large-scale commercial retail remodels and ground-up projects for major national clients (Walmart, Costco, Sam's Club, Primark, Wayfair).
Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site construction activities
- Manage large crews (100+ personnel) and subcontractors
- Create and maintain project schedules
- Ensure OSHA safety compliance and jobsite standards
- Monitor quality, progress, and budgets
- Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders
- Conduct site inspections and resolve issues
- 10+ years of construction supervision experience
- 5+ years managing large commercial or industrial projects
Experience with complex remodels and ground-up builds - Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel nationally
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred:
- Degree in Construction Management or related field
- OSHA 30+ certification
- Experience with Pro Core, Bluebeam, or Auto Desk
- Experience working in active/operating environments
