US - Chicago, IL - 10510 W Zemke Rd - Compensation: USD – USD 209,613.3 per month
- Under limited supervision, manages one or more ES&H functions within an ES&H department or group within a subsidiary.
- May manage the environmental safety and health function(s) on a large project.
- Is fully competent in most aspects of the job.
- Work is complex and requires independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
- Uses independent judgment and provides solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
- Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
- BA/BS in Occupational Safety or related curriculum and 8 years of construction site safety experience or equivalent experience and/or education.
- Valid US driver’s license.
- Construction site safety experience.
- 8 years of experience as a construction site safety professional.
- Aviation/airport construction safety experience strongly preferred.
- OSHA 30‑Hour certification.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
- Experience with Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) documents.
- OCIP/CSIP experience.
- Experience in safety protocol implementation, audit and reporting on a large construction site.
- Proficiency in construction site PPE, PPE training, reporting and safety orientation.
- The following physical demands represent those typically required of individuals working in construction field roles, with or without accommodation. Construction field positions require physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to climb ladders and stairs, use personnel hoists, and move through various terrain and active construction zones. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Team members must be capable of using their hands to handle tools and materials, and perform activities such as sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted may be necessary on an occasional basis. - Individuals in construction field roles work primarily on active job sites where exposure to environmental and job‑related hazards is common, with or without accommodation. These environments may include proximity to heavy machinery, elevated work areas, airborne particles, varying weather conditions, and potential electrical risks. Noise levels may vary from moderate to high depending on the phase of construction. Employees may be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and must remain alert to ensure safety.
Additional duties may be assigned as needed based on the scope and progress of the project.
- This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization now or in the future.
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre‑employment substance abuse test.
- This position is not hybrid nor remote.
- For positions with driving responsibilities, Motor Vehicle Records are reviewed as part of AECOM’s background check by AECOM to ensure compliance with the Company’s driving standards.
- In order to receive a security badge at the client worksite to enable access to secure portions of the facility for which you are being hired to perform services, you may be required to pass the client’s security screening process, which will include, but may not be limited to, Homeland Security background check and fingerprinting. Should this be required it will be done after you have commenced employment, and your participation in that process and a pass rating by the client are both conditions of your continued employment.
