We are a mid‑sized, family‑owned general contractor experiencing substantial growth in the Chicagoland area. Our focus is on people and delivering excellent project results. We are seeking an experienced Safety Director to establish and run an in‑house safety program.

Job Details

As the Safety Director, you will ensure the safety and health of all employees, contractors, and visitors at our construction sites, maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Safety Plan.

Provide safety training and awareness programs to all site personnel.

Investigate incidents and accidents to identify causes and prevent recurrence.

Ensure all safety equipment is in good working order and readily available.

Maintain accurate records of all safety‑related activities and incidents.

Liaise with regulatory bodies such as OSHA and stay updated on new safety regulations and standards.

Implement emergency procedures and conduct drills as necessary.

Promote a positive safety culture within the organization.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Safety Manager in the construction industry.

Based in the Chicagoland area with the ability to travel nationally.

Experience in a safety role within a construction company.

OSHA 30 certification.

Commercial & Industrial experience preferred.
