We are working with a growing excavation and construction company seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee and lead all health and safety initiatives across active construction projects. This individual will play a key role in maintaining compliance, reducing risk, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout field operations.

The Role

The Safety Manager will be responsible for implementing and managing company‑wide safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, and supporting project teams through proactive safety leadership. This role will work closely with field operations, project management, and executive leadership to maintain safe and efficient job sites.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety assessments
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards
  • Lead safety meetings, onboarding, and ongoing training programs
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain safety documentation, reporting, and compliance records
  • Identify job site hazards and develop risk mitigation strategies
  • Support project teams in maintaining safe work practices and procedures
  • Monitor subcontractor safety compliance and accountability
  • Assist with workers’ compensation claims and return‑to‑work processes
  • Promote and reinforce a proactive safety culture across all operations
What They’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of construction or excavation safety management experience
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety regulations
  • Experience conducting field inspections and safety training
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple active job sites and priorities
  • OSHA certifications preferred (OSHA 30, CHST, CSP, etc.)
  • Experience in excavation, heavy civil, or utility construction preferred
