Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI) is looking for great people to join our Team! We are looking for a Jr.Construction Field Inspector who will have the opportunity to work on an innovative project. We are a leading engineering firm known for quality and responsiveness and a proven track record of success as a Prime civil Engineering firm. The Construction Inspector works closely with the Resident Engineer to ensure conformance with standards, safety, and contract requirements.

• Works under the general guidance and direction of a Senior Construction Inspector or a Resident Engineer.
• Reviews field staking and makes revisions within the scope of authority.
• Verifies levels, alignment, and elevation of installation using the surveyor's level.
• Coordinates activities and schedules with utility companies, contractors, property owners, and other agencies.
• Observes work in progress to ensure that procedures and materials conform to plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Records quantities of material received.
• Examines quality of finished installations for conformity to industry standards.
• Measures distances to verify the accuracy of dimensions of installation.
• Maintains daily reports of construction activities and performs filing duties.
• Takes progress photos of the construction activities.
• Prepares sketches of construction installations that deviate from plans and incorporates changes into as-built drawings.
• Performs work following safety policies and procedures.
• Handles complaints either personally or by referring to the Resident Engineer.
• Responsibilities may include an entire project or may focus on one specific project area.

• Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Knowledge of industry Standards and Specifications for different agencies.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements: personal and workers' safety.
• Skill to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and the general public.
• Considerable skill in reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Skill in applying material testing procedures.
• Ability to prepare, organize and maintain inspection field and office data.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information, orally and in writing, professionally to contractors, developers, property owners, employees, consultants, governmental agency representatives, and the general public.
• Ability to operate a personal computer, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record for the past three years.
