Construction Senior Project Manager

Step into a vital leadership role where you will direct the lifecycle of complex, large-scale industrial and manufacturing projects. As a Construction Senior Project Manager, you will steer initiatives from conceptual design through successful completion, ensuring client expectations are not just met, but exceeded. This is a dynamic opportunity to mentor high-performing teams, drive advanced quality management principles, and take true executive ownership of your projects while bridging the gap between design vision and field execution.

The firm boasts a prestigious 100+ year legacy in the AEC space and operates as a 100% employee-owned organization. Joining our team means your hard work translates directly into personal equity through a robust ESOP, while also enjoying an unparalleled commitment to work-life balance—including a highly flexible hybrid schedule and 5-hour Fridays. You will be part of a collaborative, community-focused culture that prioritizes sustainable design, green initiatives, and delivering "best in class" creative solutions.

Core Responsibilities

  • Command the full project lifecycle, providing strategic direction and control of diverse construction projects to ensure successful execution from concept through closeout.
  • Cultivate and champion long-lasting client relationships, acting as the primary liaison and preparing comprehensive progress and financial reports.
  • Orchestrate the procurement process by developing subcontractor interest, leading competitive bidding, and negotiating, awarding, and administering all subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
  • Safeguard project financials and timelines by establishing rigorous cost monitoring, developing site utilization plans, and reviewing frequent schedule updates and 3-week look-aheads.
  • Integrate cross-disciplinary efforts, leading cooperative and synergistic workflows between the design team and field construction staff.
  • Drive a proactive safety and quality culture, conducting job site inspections, managing daily checklists, and ensuring strict adherence to industry laws, insurance policies, and liability standards.
  • Mentor and elevate junior and mid-level staff, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
  • 7–10 years of successful, diverse construction project management experience.
  • Deep technical understanding of construction engineering principles, including materials, methods, sequencing, scheduling, and estimating.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the construction industry, including laws, contracts, accounting, and insurance/liability aspects (claims avoidance).
  • High-level proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Project, and the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong capability to interpret complex construction documents.
  • Willingness and ability to travel periodically (up to 10%) to construction locations throughout the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive, proven experience managing large-scale industrial and manufacturing construction projects.
  • Demonstrated success leading Design-Build initiatives.
