Commercial Project Coordinator

We have an opening for a Commercial Project Coordinator position in Chicago, Illinois. Our client is considering candidates at both the Coordinator and Senior Coordinator levels, dependent on background.

This role presents a chance for advancement within a well-established construction company specializing in commercial and industrial projects such as schools, places of worship, and other non-residential buildings. Previous experience in residential construction alone will not suffice.

The Project Coordinator will oversee the progression of construction projects from initiation to completion, collaborating closely with clients, on-site leaders, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality work.

Duties will include:

• Supervising commercial and industrial construction projects from start to finish
• Serving as a main point of contact for clients, subcontractors, on-site teams, and internal management
• Establishing and managing project timelines, budgets, change orders, invoices, and project documentation
• Examining blueprints, work scopes, contracts, specifications, and project demands
• Leading project meetings, monitoring progress, addressing challenges, and keeping stakeholders updated
• Evaluating subcontractor performance, project expenses, safety measures, quality standards, and regulatory compliance
• Assisting, coaching, and coordinating project teams to promote accountability and achievements

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience in commercial or industrial construction project coordination
• Preferably a background with a commercial design-build company
• Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Adobe, and Timberline/Sage is desirable
• Thorough understanding of construction techniques, project scheduling, budgeting, and record-keeping
• Proficiency in interpreting plans, specifications, scopes of work, and contracts
• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• A degree in construction management, engineering, civil engineering, or a related field is advantageous
