Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day field operations for adaptive reuse and multifamily renovation projects, from mobilization through final punch list and project closeout
  • Coordinate and supervise all on-site construction activities, including subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, and workforce scheduling
  • Develop and maintain the project field schedule, ensuring subcontractors meet milestones and sequencing is efficient
  • Enforce jobsite safety standards and OSHA compliance, including safety meetings and site inspections
  • Review construction documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate field execution and quality control
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager on RFIs, submittals, field changes, and unforeseen conditions
  • Maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, inspectors, architects, engineers, and ownership representatives
  • Conduct daily site reporting and manage punch list completion
  • Ensure compliance with Chicago building codes, zoning requirements, inspections, and permitting processes
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing construction projects, with a strong emphasis on adaptive reuse and multifamily renovations
  • Deep knowledge of Chicago building codes, permitting procedures, and local construction practices
  • Proven ability to lead subcontractors and coordinate complex jobsite logistics in dense urban environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing construction schedules, sequencing trades, and maintaining jobsite productivity
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to address field conditions and challenges quickly and effectively
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with historic preservation or landmark building projects
  • LEED Accreditation or familiarity with sustainable building practices
