Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day field operations for adaptive reuse and multifamily renovation projects, from mobilization through final punch list and project closeout
- Coordinate and supervise all on-site construction activities, including subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, and workforce scheduling
- Develop and maintain the project field schedule, ensuring subcontractors meet milestones and sequencing is efficient
- Enforce jobsite safety standards and OSHA compliance, including safety meetings and site inspections
- Review construction documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate field execution and quality control
- Coordinate with the Project Manager on RFIs, submittals, field changes, and unforeseen conditions
- Maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, inspectors, architects, engineers, and ownership representatives
- Conduct daily site reporting and manage punch list completion
- Ensure compliance with Chicago building codes, zoning requirements, inspections, and permitting processes
- Minimum 10 years of experience managing construction projects, with a strong emphasis on adaptive reuse and multifamily renovations
- Deep knowledge of Chicago building codes, permitting procedures, and local construction practices
- Proven ability to lead subcontractors and coordinate complex jobsite logistics in dense urban environments
- Demonstrated experience managing construction schedules, sequencing trades, and maintaining jobsite productivity
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to address field conditions and challenges quickly and effectively
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam)
- Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with historic preservation or landmark building projects
- LEED Accreditation or familiarity with sustainable building practices
