Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for industrial, commercial, healthcare, institutional, warehouse/distribution, and tenant improvement (TI) projects
, including ground-up construction, interior build-outs, facility expansions, and complex renovations
. Working closely with project managers, clients, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers, the Estimator will support all phases of preconstruction by developing competitive bids and helping ensure successful project delivery.
- Prepare complete cost estimates for commercial construction projects by reviewing project documents, plans, and specifications.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and develop pricing summaries for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and industry partners for current and future opportunities.
- Work closely with project managers, preconstruction teams, clients, architects, engineers, and consultants throughout the estimating process.
- Review project scope, identify potential risks, and recommend cost-effective solutions when appropriate.
- Evaluate design revisions and project changes, updating estimates as required.
- Assist in bid preparation, proposal development, and subcontractor selection.
- Maintain estimating databases, supplier lists, and cost tracking information.
- Support a smooth transition from preconstruction to project execution through clear communication and documentation.
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction estimating experience.
- Proven experience estimating ground-up commercial construction and complex renovation or tenant improvement projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, subcontract agreements, scheduling, shop drawings, local building codes, and industry standards.
- Experience negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
