Project Manager – Commercial Construction
Chicago, IL
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial construction projects from start to finish. This is a hands-on, project-based position working closely with field leadership and self-perform crews to manage schedule, cost, quality, safety, and overall project execution.
Responsibilities- Manage projects from preconstruction/startup through final closeout
- Own project budgets, cost forecasting, productivity tracking, and financial performance
- Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, and project documentation
- Develop and maintain project schedules, including manpower, materials, equipment, and deliveries
- Coordinate closely with Superintendents and self-perform field crews
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, procurement, and material requirements
- Lead communication with general contractors, owners, architects, and engineers
- Manage progress meetings, billings, pay applications, and project closeout
- Maintain strong jobsite safety and quality standards
- 2+ years of construction Project Management experience required; 5+ years preferred
- Commercial construction experience required
- Concrete, self-perform, high-rise, parking structure, or structural construction experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing budgets, RFIs, submittals, change orders, scheduling, and field coordination
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and project documentation
- Experience with Procore and Excel;
Tekla and Bluebeam experience is a plus - Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience
- Must be comfortable working primarily onsite from the project location
- up to $120,000 base salary, depending on experience
